USAF Pilot Training Classes 52-G and 52-H
Search for missing classmates
|
The Association is searching for the 552 52-G and 52-H classmates for whom we do
not have an address. If you would like to help to find these
"missing" classmates, this page will give you advice about techniques
that were earned the hard way - by successful searches. It would be best
if you could concentrate on your 52-G or
52-H Primary classmates. Please let the
Corresponding
Secretary know that you will conduct the search.
It is understandable that classmates with an unusual last name can be found
more easily than most. There are a number of search techniques that can
narrow the field, even when looking for for someone with a more common last
name. Hints about a possible address may by obtained from a class book or
official orders. The fastest and least costly technique is to use one or more of the
Internet search engines.
SEARCH ENGINES
Some online search engines can act as telephone white pages for the whole U.S.
Here are some suggestions (in no particular order). Each has a slightly different format, and
may provide different results. Many supply addresses and phone numbers.
A few give ages and e-mail addresses. There is no stand-out search engine.

Addresses
Google
(When using Google, type in the box (separated by commas) the first name and last
name followed by the city, state, area code, OR zip code, if known.)
Using a search engine may produce a large number of "hits".
You may be able to narrow the search by entering a city or state, if you suspect
the classmate stayed close to the location listed in his class book, or his last
known base.
On-line telephone directories are available to search for classmates from
Europe:
Infobel permits searching the directories of Belgium, Denmark, France and
the Netherlands (in English). The official
French white pages are available in English, however, you must know which
"Department", such as Alsace, to search.

UNITED SERVICES AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION
Many American classmates obtained insurance from the USAA after graduation from pilot
training. The USAA is not willing to divulge someone's address, but will
forward a letter, if the person is a USAA member. Randy Presley has
contacted the USAA, and they have reviewed the list of all American classmates
who had no known address. The USAA has confirmed that almost 100 of those
on the list have died, and that 21 are currently USAA members. Randy has
submitted letters to be forwarded to the 21, and the results have been included
in the rosters.
