Married to Jimmie Carolyn Cook, retired school teacher (42 years). Three
children: (William Spencer Yates, Victoria Carolyn Yates Marullo (dec), Rebecca
Elizabeth Yates Bird). Five grandchildren (Vanessa Carolyn & Suzanna Kathryn
Marullo; Matthew Spencer & Lois Anne Yates; and Allison Bird & Andrew Carlton

1967-1982 Chief Civil Section, Served in misdemeanor, check, civil, appellate,
back tax, felony and special crimes sections. Served as legal advisor for
Commissioners Court, Hospital District and appointed and elected officials
Private practice 7 years 1960-1967 in general civil and criminal law.
Law firm 3 years 1957-1960, Beckmann, Stanard, Wood, Barrow and Vance, defense
of liability and compensations cases.
